If you’re like me then you’re just now catching your breath from the end of the year. Besides the usual family time and holidays, it’s also the time of year when Agape Asia reflects on the amazing things God has done during the previous year.

One of the greatest blessings we’re thankful for is the group of twenty partners who lead our work in Asia. These are faithful men and women who have used their life savings to start ministries, endure difficulties and persecution, tirelessly love at-risk children, and share their faith with their communities. As these partners are empowered by a loving God and supported by generous people around the world, they are the hands and feet of Jesus in their communities.

It is because of our wonderful partners that we see so many children’s lives changed and communities transformed.

Samay* lives in a small village in India where many families cannot send their children to school and they wonder where their next meal will come from. During the past two years of the epidemic, Samay’s family was seldom able to work which left Samay on the verge of leaving school and even uncertain that he would be able to stay with his family. Christian leaders in his village had recently started a Children’s Club – a weekly meeting that loves, teaches, and provides physical help for at-risk children in the community. Samay quickly joined the Children’s Club where he received daily necessities and help to continue his education. Over time, Samay not only stayed with his family and continued his studies, but also came to faith. Today he is pursuing studies in science, specifically biotechnology. Samay is also sharing love and hope with others by teaching at the same Children’s Club that blessed him so much.

In 2022 more than 6,300 children were cared for through Agape Asia’s partners.

In 2022 more than 6,300 children were cared for through Agape Asia’s partners. Most of those received care through either Family-Based Care or Children’s Clubs like Samay. At the same time more than 14,000 people heard the Good News. Those are children in our care as well as adults in the community who heard about a loving Father and saw first-hand what that love looks like. In lives, families, and communities that often seem dark and hopeless the light of God shines brightest. This year more than 2,500 of those people believed the Gospel.

When Agape partners step into a community, they find children just like Samay. There is often an immediate physical impact on that child’s life as they receive daily necessities, are able to go to school, get medical attention, and more. Multiply that impact dozens or hundreds of times and you begin to see not only lives changed, but entire communities. That kind of love and transformation is undeniable, which is why so many people in these communities accept the Good News. Each child whose life is changed is a miracle. And each life that finds eternal hope in Jesus is worth celebrating.

We invite you to learn more about what God did in 2022 through our wonderful partners and supporters. Join us in giving praise to whom its due!
