Serve At-Risk Children in Nepal Villages
Our partners in Nepal work with local churches to care for at-risk children and grow churches in unreached mountain villages.
$28 per month cares for one at-risk child.
About the need
Chainpur and the surrounding villages rest on beautiful mountain peaks up above the clouds which means that residents must walk half a day to reach the nearest town. Children in the village walk 3 or 4 hours every day to attend school and often lack daily necessities. Many families are impoverished as they survive on corn and bean farming. Even more pressing, most of them have never heard the Good News.
Child Impact
Agape’s local leaders care for 12 at-risk children in each village. This care includes regular visits, access to education, nutritional help, and training for adult caretakers. With Agape’s help, at-risk children will be able to continue living with single parents or other relatives. Abandoned children will be able to live with local foster families.
Community Impact
Village leaders have invited our local partners to come help their children and share their faith. As our partners care for these children and build relationships in the village, they will share their faith and begin studying with families. Our partners will work with a small number of Christians in the village to grow the local church.
Sustainability Impact
Local Christian leaders are beginning small businesses in their communities. Profits from these businesses will support both their own families and a growing percentage of their ministry needs. Agape’s support helps train these leaders, launch small businesses, and grow local funding for this ministry.
