Several months ago, we shared with you the news that we would be moving out of our building in Luxi, China that we have come to know as Refuge of Grace Care center. Now, after our children have completed the school year and we have exhausted all our options in hopes of not moving or even relocating to an alternative local facility to house our children, we have vacated the RGCC building that we have occupied since September 2010.
It was a very emotional time for our director, Jim Chen, his wife, Jenny, the staff, the children, and members of the local community. But, our care for the children in Luxi continues – the children are all moved in with relatives and we will care for them in our foster care program, the same way we do for nearly 200 children throughout Asia (in China, Nepal, Myanmar and Mongolia). We will continue to visit them regularly, provide food, clothes and school supplies, visit their schools to pay their tuition, and send reports to their sponsors. Our care for these children is not changing – we are just not housing and feeding them our own building. Your sponsorship will continue to make a difference in their lives.
We want to say a huge thank you to all of you who have sponsored, visited, or prayed for our children and staff at RGCC over the years – you have all had a great impact on their lives. And, to our friends at the Jackson Family Foundation, we say thank you for your original help in refurbishing the original building and establishing RGCC in 2010 – you have provided a great blessing to hundreds of children!
We will provide more information when the final property transfer is completed.
