Thanks to the intervention and kindness of the Jiangxi provincial authorities in Nanchang, the children will be allowed to stay in the center until the end of this school year. This is a tremendous relief as it allows the children to finish out the school year in place.
However, we are still moving out of the RGCC facility at the end of the school year. As of now, we do not have a new location to relocate and the prospect of the local authorities approving any location does not look promising. So, Jim and his team at RGCC are making plans for the children to return to their guardians when school is out. We will continue to provide for the children and help the guardians care for them through home based foster care – just as we now do in Xian, Wadian, and Guilin.
So, for those of you sponsoring children at RGCC, your sponsorship will continue – what will change is increased travel and work for our team to visit the children and their guardians.
