Last fall, I spent 18 days in India with Ray Hooper, founder of India Discipleship Network (IDN). The main purpose and goal of the trip was to see the work that Ray and others in India have de veloped over the past 43 years. IDN (www.indiadiscipleshipnetwork.org) supports various ministries in southern India – including a girls rescue home, family run orphan homes, water well drilling, and an English language Christian school.
In February, Ray and the IDN board of directors met with our AAF board of directors in Quinlan, TX, at our annual board meeting. We agreed to begin a special partnership, working together on projects this year and learning more about one another. For example, we will work with IDN as they plan for the expansion of their girls rescue home, as well as replace the house used for one of their orphanages. And, IDN will help us in developing curriculum for new training programs and help us improve our sustainability efforts. (IDN has transitioned several programs over the years to be fully funded by local Indian support.)
We are excited about the future and what this will mean for the work we are doing to share the Father’s love with abandoned and vulnerable children in Asia. We believe we can do more together!
Look for updates and more information on this new partnership in upcoming newsletters and on social media.
