Last month we shared with you the news about having to move from our Refuge of Grace Care Center in Luxi, China. Since then, we have been given a date of May 13 as the date we must vacate the facility. This timing is a major problem as our children’s preparation for year end testing (including both the college and high school entrance exams) is at risk.
And, even more troubling, construction workers have already entered our property and begun setting up scaffolding around the building. Our concern is for the safety of our children and staff – so, the local mayor has given us his personal assurance that they will ensure our safety.
Our team is doing a wonderful job in a difficult environment. We have identified a possibility solution – a local private school has offered use of some of their vacant space. If this works out, then we will be moving as soon as possible so the children can get settled and we can resume providing the care they need.
