Oh, what a journey!

This week, we were able to visit a recovering Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) patient that we recently helped in China – Meng Xiaoxuan.  Following is a story and photos compiled from the report sent to us by Alvin, our medical case worker in China.  Enjoy this story … see the impact of our medical missions and your support!

“In order to reach her remote village in Guangxi Province, the trip included: a high speed train, a bus, a commute van from the county seat to the town, and finally a private tricycle.  What a trip!  The deeper the vehicles plunged into the mountains, the steeper of the ambiance becomes; it’s not true to say I was not shivering inside of my heart while looking around the tricycle, what backs me up steadily is that HE beholds us and leads us the path to the place securely.  We got to the village which is located where mountains are surrounding, after winding along the zigzag roads.”

“Caiping, Xiaoxuan, dad is coming” saluted Meng Tianjie, father of the girl Meng Xiaoxuan and the husband of a mental impaired woman; it’s told that she knows little how to cook when the fifty-one-year-old man goes out to take temporary work to support the family. He also does some planting vegetables to assist the provision for the household. Xiaoxuan’s mom scarcely knows how to take care of the family; one can’t imagine how the man got through the catastrophe befallen on the family, the great amount of fund for the surgery almost overwhelmed the man, fortunately, besides support from the local government, sponsorship from Agape Asia Foundation helped them pull through the dilemma.”

“What relieved the old peasant most is that his daughter has recovered as an ordinary well girl, she is very cute and clever enough to covey some polite info to others whom she meets; her elder brother is somewhat mentally impaired due to a high fever suffered early in his childhood, who can’t count from one to ten even though he is ten years old now.”

“Nutrition foods and some cookies I also presented to them, and they were told that it’s from those beloved people in the States, and they got to know the reason they were helped was the belief in HIM, thus we shared some truth of HIS words in the good book with them inside the tent of the temporary home.”

“The man kept thanking all the way and felt sorry for not feasting us even a simple lunch at his home, and he was told that only if they can carry the love forward when his daughter grown up, are they welcome at all.”

How great it is to see and hear the impact of our work from the eyes and ears of Alvin!

This medical mission is only possible because of your support. Thank you!
